Standard profiles should be stored in a public collaborative space everyone can access. If you try to add a project that requires a standard profile that does not exist on the server, the standard profile is automatically imported to the server. We highly recommend moving such standard profiles to a collaborative space dedicated to standard profiles.

Creating public collaborative spaces

We recommend that administrators responsible for managing MBSE on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform create a public collaborative space for standard profiles. All users should have viewing permission for this space, but the editing permission should be reserved for the administrator.

To create a public collaborative space

  1. On the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, click and find Collaborative Spaces Control Center under My Apps.
  2. Click Create Collaborative Space.
  3. In the open dialog, enter the owner’s name (if it is not the current user).
  4. In the Title box, the space title.
  5. In the Description box, enter an optional space description.
  6. In the Family drop-down box, select Design - Collaborative storage to manage any kind of content.
  7. In the Visibility drop-down box, select Public - Content visible to all users.
  8. Click the Create button.

Importing standard profiles to the 3DEXPERIECNE platform

Once the collaborative space is created, users can import standard profiles to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Members of the same team should use an installation of a modeling tool complete with the same plugins.

To import standard profiles to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform

  1. Log in to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform where the collaborative space was created.
  2. In the main menu, select 3DEXPERIENCE > Switch Platform/Credentials.
  3. In the Credentials drop-down box of the open dialog, select the appropriate public collaborative space.

  4. Click OK.
  5. In the main menu, select 3DEXPERIENCE > Add Profiles to Server.

Once standard profiles are added to a public collaborative space, all newly created and added projects will use standard profiles from that space. If a profile is not imported automatically, you can add it as a standalone project.
