The Realized Operational Exchange wizard gives the instructions to follow when adding a new Operational Exchange or selecting one of the existing Operational Exchanges.
The Realized Operational Exchange wizard consists of three steps:
Operational Exchange creation (mandatory)
This step is designed to create a new Operational Exchange by specifying a Conveyed Item, both sending and receiving Operational Agents, and a direction of an Operational Exchange. Depending on a fact, if the selected Operational Agent is known or not, requested information differs:
- If sending and receiving Operational Agents are unknown from the wizard invocation context, you need to specify both.
- If sending and receiving Operational Agent are known, they are added to a Realized Operational Exchange wizard automatically.
Box | Description | ||||||||||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Conveyed Item | One or more Operational Exchange Items that are conveyed by the information flow from the sending Operational Agents to receiving Operational Agents.
| ||||||||||||||
Operational Exchange | Operational Exchange that specifies an information flow for specified Conveyed Items. If you select an existing Operational Exchange from the drop-down list, the Conveyed Item box and Direction drop-down list will be filled with corresponding information automatically. You will be able to edit the values of Conveyed Items. The direction of the information flow won’t be editable. Available if sending and receiving Operational Agents are known from the wizard invocation context. | ||||||||||||||
Sending Operational Agent | Operational Agents that send the specified conveyed information. Available if an Operational Agent is unknown from the wizard invocation context. | ||||||||||||||
Receiving Operational Agent | Operational Agents that receive the specified conveyed information. Available if an Operational Agent is unknown from the wizard invocation context. | ||||||||||||||
Direction | The direction of the information flow. After changing the direction from the default one, the sending Operational Agent is switched with the receiving Operational Agent. The direction of the Operational Exchange is changed accordingly. | ||||||||||||||
Add Operational Exchange to corresponding relationships | Select the check box if you want to add the Operational Exchange to the corresponding relationships with the same sending and receiving Operational Agents at their ends as defined in the first step of the wizard. |
Producing and Consuming Activities editing
This step is designed to review Producing and Consuming Activities for the created or selected Operational Exchange. Operational Exchanges are produced and consumed by Activities performed by the Operational Agents. You can remove the realization between listed Operational Activity pairs.
Affected diagram reviewing and updating
In this step, you can see the list of diagrams where the selected Operational Exchange can be realized and displayed. You can choose one or more diagrams you want the specified exchange to be displayed. If the diagrams are grayed out, this means there are no Conveyed Items of the selected Operational Exchange to be displayed.
The Project option Show Item Flows on Affected Diagrams controls how the diagrams will be updated for newly created or modified exchanges. Set the option to true to update all affected diagrams and show the Conveyed Items of Operational Exchanges whenever a new exchange is created or an existing one is modified.
To learn more about previewing affected diagrams, see Preview Affected Diagrams dialog.
